PatangIndia is a country of festivals and here people celebrate all the festivals with great pomp. Talking about the month of January the first festival in January is Makar Sakranti and everyone celebrates this festival with great pomp during which people fly kites and eat sesame laddoos. And somewhere they also bathe with sesame seeds. This festival is celebrated in different places in different ways and under different names. For example in Tamil Nadu it is celebrated as Pongal while in Karnataka Kerala and Andhra Pradesh it is only celebrated as Sankranti. They only say Apart from this the festival of Makar Sankranti is also called Uttarayan at some places and to define this festival together with the writers of different provinces we have created this book in which the writers have described this great festival of Makar Sankranti with their pens through the poetry.
