PATHOLOGY OF ENT ORGANS IN TWINS

About The Book

Twins are two or more offspring born as a result of one pregnancy within a short time of each other. They can be one- (monozygotic) two- (dizygotic) or multi- (polyzygotic). According to statistics on average twins make up about 2% of all newborns and triplets make up only 2% of all twins. The probability of having identical twins is not associated with hereditary and external factors and averages 3 per 1000 pregnancies that is 0.3%. According to the CDC “For every 1000 births there are 32.1 twins. Among the general population in the 21st century the probability of having twins is approximately 3 in 100 (about 3%).” For this reason diagnosis treatment and rehabilitation of twins with diseases of the ENT organs remain relevant.
