<p><strong><em>Paths and Portraits</em></strong> is a short story collection that focuses the reader's attention from the beginning on two immigrant families of the early twentieth century. Their arrival from central Europe to the USA in times of war persecution and antisemitism sets the stage for their descendants the many characters real or imaginary who seem like uprooted travelers on the road of their individual destiny.
