Pearl of Great Price

Pearl of Great Price includes the following five distinct sections: The Book of Moses: This section contains excerpts from the Book of Genesis which Joseph Smith claimed were revealed to him as additional information about the stories of Adam and Eve Enoch and other ancient figures. The Book of Abraham: Joseph Smith claimed to have translated this text from an ancient Egyptian papyrus. It includes an account of Abrahams life teachings and encounters with various celestial beings. This book is considered a significant part of the Pearl of Great Price. Joseph Smith—Matthew: This is an extract from the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament with additions and changes made by Joseph Smith. It includes prophecies and teachings by Jesus that Smith claimed were directed to him. Joseph Smith—History: This section includes an autobiographical account written by Joseph Smith himself. It describes his early religious experiences the First Vision (a foundational event in Mormonism) and the restoration of the priesthood.
