About The Book

Friends whove read my transcripts have asked me to write about my childhood—to explain the circumstances and forces that shaped me. I tried. The result was a comical dysfunctional period piece—kind of like Holden Caulfield coming of age in the sixties: alcoholic parents dope sex and rocknroll. Its a funny story but a story thats already been told many times. What havent been told are enough personal accounts of the serious political organizers whove tried to change the social policies and mentality of U.S. society. Books like this are as scarce as hens teeth. So thats my goal in this book—especially to show people in motion and in struggle. Its a personal account full of quirks and warts. A true story of a true person...at least I try to be.
