Perception of vulnerability in young females experiences of oral sex

About The Book

The current study examined the issue of vulnerability in oral sex as perceived by female university students. Five focus group discussions were conducted with an aim to look at different sides of young females’ experiences of fellatio and cunnilingus. The study revealed that vulnerability in oral sex was perceived by females as physical and emotional and was further amplified by socio-cultural and gender power pressures. Perception of vulnerability reflected the transition stage in females’ efforts to resolve gender structured oral sex dilemma. Findings have implications for educators and healthcare providers who aim to protect young females’ physical and mental health.
