Periodontal Concepts versus Clinical Approach

Periodontal diagnosis is a long procedure in time as for an appointment or dental visit and even in cases the patient is being followed for the treatment of periodontal pathology from which he suffers. The most basic diagnostic techniques come to the rescue and do not leave much to be desired for the correct placement of a periodontal diagnosis although material science and technology have advanced over time and offer many facilitating opportunities for diagnosis with the patient in the dental chair thus eliminating laboratory visits waiting time and duration of laboratory tests. The issue now lies in the proper selection of these tools. This book presents data on systemic pathologies and oral pathologies in correlating the presence of one of them and the appearance of the other.
