Permission in some Selected Literary Works in English and Arabic

This study deals with the speech act of permission. It is an attempt to investigate permission which can be asked or given. To present and discuss the speech act of permission and its types in both English and Arabic the present study focuses on its syntactic semantic and pragmatic aspects in some English and Arabic dramatic texts since drama is a vital representation of conversation in life and dramatic texts are rich of various aspects of permission whether asked or given.
