Personal Social and Health Education: teacher and student perceptions

About The Book

Over the last few decades the subject of Personal Social and Health Education has been reduced in terms of allocated time on the timetable of many secondary schools. Theresa Fogell investigates perceptions of teacher and student views on the subject and explores whether there are any perceivable differences between Catholic and common schools. In this study many students indicated that they greatly valued the subject as it had direct relevance to their everyday lives. Students found the subject helpful when they had to make decisions and it provided a safe platform in which they could examine topics that they may later have to confront.
