Personality Gender & Learning Styles – Teaching to Student Aptitudes determines personality and cognitive profiles in secondary students focusing on intuitive/sensor thinker/feeler characteristics of students and describes the relationship between personality profiles preferred cognitive learning styles and math/reading comprehension aptitudes from ACT Explore results. Dr. Kotz also examines the possibility of gender differences in either reading comprehension or mathematics ability based on these personality characteristics. This study is based on Krause’s Cognitive Profile Model built upon Jung and Myers work. Models studied also include Myers-Briggs Keirsey and Bates Kolb and McCarthy and point toward new possibilities in effective teaching using student personality and cognitive profiles. Dr. Paul E. Kotz teaches Organizational Effectiveness Ethics and Research Methods at Saint Mary’s University Minneapolis MN Doctorate in Leadership Program. His teaching experience includes secondary masters level management courses mentoring and guiding both masters and doctoral research projects to improve teaching environments and outcomes for the individual learner.
