The tremendous explosion of knowledge in the present era demands that our teachers should be dynamic. This book aims at providing the teachers, trainees and students of B.Ed. a perspective knowledge of Educational Psychology; I have tried to present the subject matter in simple and lucid manner. Designed as a text book as per the new syllabus of two years B.Ed. course based on NCTE guidelines, this book treats the subject in its entirety and makes it more acceptable, meaningful and useful to the students of Psychology. This book deals with the study of the children-their personality, intelligence, interests, attitudes; values, aptitude etc.The children are the most valuable aspect of the society and environment. . Educational psychology has been taught as a major subject in teacher education programmes at secondary and senior secondary levels on the implicit assumption that knowledge of educational psychology gives insight into the problems of teaching¬learning, and develops other necessary professional skills and competencies in the prospective teachers to face the classroom teaching problems confidently and intelligently. Educational psychology in brief can give the teacher in ample of what he needs to achieve his goals by enabling him to understand, control and predict the behavior of his students. The book has specific purpose of providing up-to-date information to the students of B.Ed. of Indian universities. It has been the endeavour of the author to present facts in simple and understandable language, so that students may draw maximum advantage out of the book for the preparation for examinations. The book will enable the prospective teachers to understand the teaching-learning problems they face every day in their classes.
