However he cannot tolerate his fianc é e's indulgence and ends the engagement. During this time they met a kind-hearted flower branch and gradually developed feelings for each other eventually becoming husband and wife. Hua Zhi was deceived in order to treat Chunming's illness and ultimately died tragically.</p><p>本书是冯玉奇通俗小说之一，讲述了男主人公周春明因父母之命与父亲上司的女儿碧霞订婚，但因看不惯未婚妻的娇生惯养，遂与其解除婚约。其间遇到心地善良的花枝，两人渐生情愫，后结为夫妻。花枝为了给春明治病被骗，最后惨死。</p>
