Pharmaceutically & Medicinally Active Heterocylic Scaffolds

The main aim of the medicinal chemistry is to understanding of molecular reasons for the activity of a drug or drug candidate. Various strategies and approaches could be used to achieve the molecular design of new structures among them the concept of privileged scaffolds. In this introductory chapter different medicinal important scaffolds such as chalcones pyrazolines isoxazoles 4-thiazolidinones pyrimidines and pyridines are discussed in this book.
