She also serves the university as a Course Transformation Project fellow working to create a culture of self-directed active learning in the non-major classroom.<br><br><b>Lisa Freeman</b> earned her doctoral degree in pharmacology at Ohio State University. Subsequently she was a post-doctoral fellow and research scientist at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and a professor of veterinary pharmacology at Kansas State University. She is currently executive vice president and provost at Northern Illinois University.
