<p>Shafiq ur Rahman is famous in the Urdu literary world for his romantic fiction and humorous essays but he is primarily known as a humorist. Elements of elegance prevail in his fictions rather than satire and in his writings he seems convinced of laughter rather than smiles. Apart from imbibing the characteristics of classical humorists in his humorous writings he himself has given humor a new direction and a new style of expression.
