Photography Memory and Identity

A semi-autobiographical investigation into how personal and cultural memories may be either enriched or eclipsed by photography. Looking at photography as a memory site and state of recollection the paper looks to decipher the ideas of: Do personal and public photographs enhance or obscure our memory? Can memories from the past be recaptured in the present? Using ‘Dear Photograph’ to expand on Keenan’s argument that a photograph can become a site of memory.
