Physical-mechanical behaviour of lightweight Palm kernel shell concrete

The environmental aspect is now a major issue in the world of construction. We need to preserve non-renewable resources and build environmentally-friendly structures. The use of agricultural waste in this case palm nut shells as aggregates in concrete is a good alternative. This study which looks at the physical and mechanical properties of the composite focuses on its durability the influence of substituting conventional aggregates and the influence of the quality of the cement paste. To carry out this study several formulations and tests were carried out on concrete including measurements of consistency density porosity and compressive strength.
