The pathogenesis of sepsis involves multiple interrelationships in the dynamics between the various components related to the host and pathogen with high mortality rates in several animal species. Although it is one of the main causes of mortality in fishes there is a lack of literature on its pathophysiological phenomena and on its modulation mechanisms. Thus this book aimed to present the physiopathological aspects of the evolution of the septic response in teleosts.
