Apart from the raw materials that go to form our variety of foods the most important plant products are medicines cosmetics and flavour products as well as other pharmaceuticals. The study of the phytochemical constituent and the antimicrobial activity of the roots of Dalium guineense (Wild) were analyzed to ascertain its composition and antibacterial efficacy as well as its medicinal purposes. The antimicrobial activities of the methanol n-hexane and ethyl acetate root extracts of Dalium guineense were tested against Staphylococcus aureus Esherichia coli Streptococcus spp Pseudomonas spp Salmonella spp by the agar well diffusion method.
