Phytochemical & Biological Study of Viola Odorata Cultivated in Iraq

The book is considered as a survey of some secondary metabolites present in Viola odorata L. collected from plant nursery in Baghdad between April and July followed by the fractionation and isolation of Stigmasterol and β-sitosterol.The biological study demonstrated the effect of the Stigmasterol and β-sitosterol found in Viola odorata L. as antioxidant and antibacterial.... Extraction of Stigmasterol and β-sitosterol as a crude extract from each part of the plant roots leaves flowers and seeds using (Petroleum ether and Methanol) to a qualitative and quantitative estimation of Stigmasterol and β-sitosterol in each part of the plant by using TLC HPLC and CC.
