Phytochemicals silicates borates determination from P. pinnata

About The Book

Pongamia is a genus having one species only Pongamia pinnata (L.) it is a medium sized glabrous perennial tree grows wildly in Kachchh (Gujarat-India) region; an important multidisciplinary important plant. In this present study we have identified aminoacids by circular paper chromatography Thin Layer Chromatography and by UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy. Moreover the silicates and borates were identified using Ion-Chromatography (IC) using silicate-borate column. The alkaloid fatty acid and lipid content were separated isolated and identified from leafs of the P. pinnata by GC/MS. The metal content was also identified from various part of the plant. Plant samples were also subjected to FTIR analysis for the identification of functional groups present in it each spectrum was matched with the FTIR compound library.
