Phytofabrication of silver nanoparticles

Nanoparticles are considered as fundamental of Nanoscience and nanotechnology. Physical chemical and biological methods employed for nanoparticles synthesis can be mainly categorized into Top-down and bottom-up approach. Synthesis of nanoparticles via plant extracts is a biological method that fall under bottom up approach category. The present review covers advantages and disadvantages of various physical and chemical methods used for nanoparticles synthesis advantages of plant mediated synthesis over other methods various plant extracts used for the fabrication of silver nanoparticles and their application. It also includes brief glimpse on characterization techniques for nanoparticles and effect of operational parameters on size size distribution and morphology of nanoparticles.
