Pickman's Model

H. P. Lovecraft's short story Pickman's Model was originally published in the October 1927 issue of Weird Tales after being written in September 1926.The protagonist of the tale is a Boston-based painter by the name of Richard Upton Pickman who produces terrifying imagery. Though masterfully done his pieces are so graphic that they cause the Boston Art Club to cancel his membership and he is shunned by his fellow painters.
