Placement and abandoned children in Gabon: A challenge of parenthood

The child is a social being. They need to grow up in an environment that guarantees them a fulfilling psychological development. Unfortunately there is a category of children who have not had the chance to grow up in a framework that is the family. For many reasons they find themselves abandoned. Some are placed in care to compensate for the lack of parental responsibilities. In Gabon this phenomenon of abandoned children is more and more frequent. To compensate for this some philanthropic institutions take charge of these children. Unfortunately in spite of their good will they do not also solve the problem of abandonment. The ideal is to take into account a multifactorial dimension of the said phenomenon and to approach it upstream and downstream.
