During gestation the woman undergoes several changes however the most important change for the vitality of the fetus is the placenta which is considered as a new highly vascularized maternal-fetal organ that allows the transfer of nutrients oxygen growth regulation and a system to get rid of the wastes of its own metabolism All this is thanks to the placenta which is defined as an organ with a rounded shape which has an umbilical cord composed of three blood vessels that help transport oxygen deliver blood rich in nutrients to the embryo and eliminates waste from the fetus this favored by the union of the embryo with the placenta.
