The General Model of Planned Change describes the four basic activities that practitioners and organization members jointly carryout in organization development. The arrows connecting the different activities in the model show the typical sequence of events from entering and contracting to diagnosing and to planning and implementing change to evaluating and institutionalizing change. The lines connecting the activities emphasize the organizational change is not a straight forward linear process but involves considerable overlap and feedback among the activities. The model Integrates the three theories of planned change in organization described in the literature- Lewin''s change model the action research model and contemporary adaptation of the action research model.
