Plant growth promoting bacteria alleviate chromium stress on wheat

About The Book

This book provides information for isolation of chromium tolerant bacteria and their potential role for growth promotion of wheat in chromium contaminated soil. Plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) were isolated from soil and screened for chromium tolerance potential. Chromium tolerant PGPB isolates were further evaluated for their ability to reduce Cr(VI) to Cr(III). Finally efficient PGPB were used to alleviate chromium stress on wheat in a pot experiment. Muhammad Yahya Khan worked on this aspect during his research work of MSc (Hons) Agriculture and this book is a thesis of his master''s research.
