This leads to immediate challenges to the environment like Climate change from CO2 emissions pollution from transport fuels land usage change in hydropower generation water pollution from industries waterbody contamination from plastic waste dumping & which can be mitigated by strict plastic rules switching to Renewable energy sources converting waste to energy Recycling/repurposing wastes etc. The circular economy is one such focused approach for plastics that involves industrial processes & economic activities in the design and helps in achieving energy efficiency while Renewable energy mix to be chosen based on the equi-marginal principle that meets the demand & is able to meet the desired energy efficiency.
