POEMS TO SAVE WATER ON EARTH

Earth is covered 70 percent by water. The total amount of water in the world is approximately 1.4 billion km³ of which 97.5 percent is saltwater occupying 1351000000 km³. Freshwater lakes and rivers ice and snow and underground aquifers hold 2.5 percent of this water: 35 million km³ of freshwater on earth. Nearly 70 percent or 24.34 million km³ of freshwater is in the form of glacial ice or snow. Groundwater and soil moisture account for 10.55 million km³ (30.1 percent). Only 0.3 percent is in freshwater lakes rivers and swamps. Of this surface freshwater 87 percent is found in lakes. Freshwater lakes hold about 0.1 million km³. Rivers the most visible form of freshwater account for 0.002 million km³.
