POETICS IN THE COMPUTER AGE: ART SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

About The Book

Human inventions and the consequent technological evolution have led to innovative changes in the means of artistic production. In this scenario new forms of poetry-making combined with cutting-edge technologies are also taking shape. The central focus of this research is poetry made in a computer environment as well as a conceptualization and exemplification perspective. During the development of this critical product the triadic semiotic relationship established between poetry the arts science and technology will be addressed in the process of promoting the digital poem and other computerized poetic forms. In this context this work is justified by the fact that the internet is a contemporary instrument that increases the number of combinatorial possibilities as well as the accessibility and dissemination of works. It creates a new relational structure between poet and reader both in the production of the poem and in its reception and interaction between the two subjects. This results in a new perspective between them now composed of author-machine-programmer-reader enabling the creation of alternative poetry that circulates in the electro-electronic-digital space.
