Poetry book The words we bury - Poetry through a teenagers mind

About The Book

There are things we never say but they live in us anyway. The Words We Bury is a journey through the unspoken experiences of a teenager a poetic reflection of what it means to be young to feel deeply and to try to understand ourselves in a world that often doesn’t. This book is a collection of poems that explores the beauty of growing up the weight of mental health and the experiences that shape who we are through the lens of adolescence. Each poem is a reminder that what we bury within us doesn't disappear rather it surfaces at random times shapeshifting into anxiety and sometimes anger. This book explores common fears that weigh on the minds of teens ranging from poems about politics like What's on my mind?” to poems about interpretations of Greek mythology like “Our stained memory of Icarus”. It's safe to say each poem is very different from each other 21 poems each covering 21 ideas. But isn't that just like the mind of a teen? In the end the reason we bury our emotions our words is because no one listens and the reason we read and write poetry is because we believe that someone should have.
