About The Book
Description
Author
Points in Time is a Christian novel about a lifelong friendship between two boys in the deep south who meet in their first year of elementary school. Their young friendship is cut short by the departure of one but rekindled years later by his return. The two are compatible in many ways yet distinctly different in fundamental ways. Their story is defined by each individually being drawn to an early and strong pull of faith in God and events that transpire as their story continues. Book one and the first few chapters of Book two provide interesting funny informative and socially pertinent insights into growing up in the south during the nineteen-fifties and early nineteen-sixties. This is a cautionary tale; a story of faith truth and what might have been. After a certain traumatic event all future events take on more meaning considering the dualistic results of that event. These Points in Time relate the happenings and pivot points of their lives. However once it appears to be the end there remains a third possibility that could change everything. The format of this novel is anomalous and integral to the telling of the storyand includes short essay elements. The story has mystical elements and speaks to ages old yet current cultural and faith-based divisions in our civilization. The intent is to draw the reader into the lives of the characters by appealing to their nostalgia sympathies emotions opinions and to provoke thought and analysis of what is being related. It is about life and death and the sanctity of life from the moment of conception.
