Points of a Compass

An autobiography by Robert M. Berdahl a historian and university administrator at four major universities. Berdahl was president of the University of Texas at Austin and chancellor of the University of California Berkeley. The book traces his life and his career with a description of the challenges and opportunities he faced as a university leader; it offers a commentary as well on his response to the changes in American society in the seven decades since World War II.
