Political alternation in Cameroon:

In contrast to the analyses centered on the explanation of the electoral verdict this book attempts to awaken the curiosity of observers and researchers by questioning the plurality of political contexts and situations of competition the remnants of uncertainty and the prospective calculations that run through societies when power is about to change hands. The contributions gathered in this book place political alternation in a long time frame in order to question the various anticipations and investments that accompany the processes of change of power both upstream and downstream. By focusing on an empirical approach to political changeover they deal with national and local cases democratic or not and revisit the Cameroonian paradigm in particular. Together they provide an understanding of how the notion of alternation has become a common category of understanding of political change.
