With the attainment of independence Ghana had as main goals Freedom Unity and Prosperity. Unfortunately the first 30years of the country''s political life as an independent state with her lofty dreams turned largely nightmarish characterized by economic hardship and military coups. The Black Star of Africa became an example of a failing African State engulfed with corrupt incompetent and repressive governments presiding over and promoting political instability stagnant economy broken down infrastructure and decaying society. This book sets to investigate the main trajectories characterizing the peaceful political Transition and by extension charts the path for democratic consolidation in Ghana''s Fourth Republic. It employs an experimental research design involving the collection presentation and analysis of data through relevant documents texts observations and interview proofs.
