Politics and Development in Africa

The present reflection is part of the logic of the search for ways and means to solve the problem of African underdevelopment. It finds in Nyerere''s thought elements capable of revolutionizing Africa. After having methodically dusted it off through an uncompromising critique it medicalizes it and prescribes it against the political economic and socio-cultural diseases that plague contemporary Africa. To bad governance it prescribes ethics and objectivity; to idleness the cult of hard work; to war the spirit of fraternity; to capitalism socialism; to identity crisis the conversion of mentalities; to isolationism pan-Africanism. In short it advocates an endogenous path for the development of Africa.
