Multidrug resistant Plasmodium falciparum infection is a major public health challenge in Ghana and other countries in the sub-Sahara African region as reports of treatment failures are still on the increase. The way forward is a potent and readily available alternative antimalarial drugs and natural products (especially the African herbs) hold the key to these drugs. The book is about the antimalarial studies of some local herbs such as Plyalthia longifolia Mallotus oppositifolius Elaeis guineensis and Sarcocephalus latifolius found growing freely in Ghana.
