About The Book

The aim of this study is to understand how educational processes develop in the professional practice of Community Health Agents in the relationship between these health professionals and users of the Family Health Strategy in Primary Health Care. In this sense we sought to understand how the construction of knowledge and educational processes takes place in the relationship between these social actors based on the theoretical framework of Popular Education. The study is justified by the importance of the Community Health Agent (ACS) in the Family Health Strategy (ESF) because this health worker is linked to the assisted community being both a resident of the community and a health professional and because they are in constant interaction with the users of this public health service. The methodology applied is qualitative research using semi-structured interviews and participant observation as methodological tools. Ethnographic references are also used to analyse discourse. The results obtained indicate that educational processes based on Popular Health Education take place in the professional practice of CHAs.
