Katelyn spent the next five minutes inching her way forward as she slowed her heart rate to match that of the pulsing blue spiral. She was now two-thirds of the way to the safety fence as she lifted her gaze from the pendant. The portal was iridescent and shimmering. A kaleidoscope of symmetry and energy in an intricate dance of spiraling colours. It was as though someone had taken a rainbow arch and crumpled it like a piece of paper. The topology looked infinite in complexity but seemed to follow some rules of interplay.
