About The Book

With a view to complying with Federal Law 11645/08 which makes the teaching of African history and culture compulsory in Brazilian primary education this research aims to develop bimonthly didactic sequences that include the comparative study of Brazilian Afro-Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking African literature (in particular Angolan Mozambican and Cape Verdean literature) Angolan Mozambican and Cape Verdean literature) in order to give first-year high school students in São Paulo the opportunity to read and interpret texts from different literary styles and contexts reflecting on the dialogical relationships between literature and society.
