These preliminary results on the prevalence of PPD in women who gave birth at CHUB of postpartum depression six weeks after delivery at CHUB of 10.6%. 23.3% were aged ≤ 24 years. 13.3% were single 11.7% had completed primary education and 28.3% were unemployed.The recent pregnancy was declared unwanted by 20% of respondents and partner support was deemed insufficient by 10%. Caesarean section was the most common mode of delivery (76.7%) and 13.3% of women were dissatisfied with the sex of their child. Almost all women (96.7%) exclusively breastfed their child and 3.3% suffered from minor illnesses. Symptoms of postnatal depression were observed in 12.6%.
