POSTCOLONIAL FEMINISMS

Feminist studies have established how gender as an organizational principle structures societies and cultures across the globe. As gender continues to be researched and theorized in its various manifestations both evident and latent across sites and forms discourses of gender have become progressively more intricate and also at times contentious. The contentiousness is in part due to sociocultural variables like race caste class dis/ability sexuality age; it is also stems from how variances across cultures and societies impact individuals and groups being realized through institutions and community organization in areas like education polity governance disciplines and professional domains; the intersections and divergences between various disciplines further problematize the discourse. All of these contribute to the trajectory that feminist criticism has travelled.
