POSTCOLONIALITY IN TRANSITION: ESSAYS ON COSMOPOLITANISM TRANSNATIONALISM AND GLOBALIZATION

The book explores the cataclysmic transitions in the discipline of postcolonial studies. It focuses on how the rise of a distinct and challenging corpus of writing by the Third World Intelligentsia has led to a radical shift in the understanding and conceptualization of postcolonial issues. Notions such as Cosmopolitanism Transnationalism and Globalization neither obliterate the specificities of the “postcolonial” nor undermine the challenges they pose to postcoloniality. Instead their interface throws open newer landscapes of postcoloniality which appear to promise a “new world order” with diverse possibilities.
