The Postmodern theories of human rights relocate its emphasis on the communities rather than on individuals on duties rather than on the rights. This book explores the opportunities of postmodernist approach towards human rights with a value on the nurturing role of the state and the reciprocal relation between the state and individuals in Latin American countries. The overall purpose of this book is to examine the nature of postmodern discourse on human rights in order to indicate that the principles of postmodernist approach are not compatible with the idea of universal human rights. The book concentrates on rights in politico - legal system from where a historical string of different philosophical approaches to inherent natural rights of of men will be traced. The issues of protection of human rights in Latin American states will be analyzed on the Postmodern view of reality and Human rights law and philosophy.
