About The Book
Description
Author
While Potted Meat And Politics Is A Rather Short Read I Suspect A Lengthy Diatribe On The Various Subjects Nelson Covers Would Have Been Counter-Intuitive To The Many Points He Tries To Get Across. Nelson Is Such A Clear Writer And A Concise Story Teller That This Book Reads Quickly And Easily. This Quality Should Also Endear The Book To A Broader Base Of Readers. Nelson Has Taken What So Many Others Often Over-Intellectualize And Reduced It To The Realm Of Common-Sense Where It Belongs. His Refusal To Let The Left'S Subjective View Of The World Get The Better Of His Common-Sense Is Refreshing; Especially In A Time That Over-Indulges Itself In Moral Relativism. Though There Are Many Bold Statements In The Book They Are Backed Up With Facts And Insight. Some Of The Language Is Harsh But Not Out Of Control Especially When You Consider His Passion For The Cultural And Political Issues Of Our Day. In Fact I Would Say That It Was Necessary To Help Wake Some People Up Who Might Be Timidly Sitting On The Sidelines. There Is Some Great Humor In The Book As Well Including Some References To Growing-Up Redneck-References That Seem Twainish At Times-To Even Some Parenting Advice That Isn'T Likely To Be Featured On Good Morning America Anytime Soon. I Think Nelson Has Created A Book That Is A Mix Of The Clear Intelligent Logic Of Newt Gingrich And The Brash No-Holds-Barred Attitude Of Michael Savage. I Could Probably Even Fit An Ann Coulter Analogy In There If I Had To.
