Oldest hand made potteries dated 8000 B.C. was discovered from Chopani-Mando. Wheel made potteries begins around 4000 B.C. at Mahergarh Kunal Rakhigarhi Binjor Baror and Bhirrana. Mature Harappan potteries were made on fast moving wheel. Ochure colour potteries begin around 3500 B.C. and continued till 1100 B.C. White painted Black and Red potteries dated 3000-2000 B.C. was first introduced by the Ahar chalcolithic culture. Painted grey ware begin in upper Ganga plain around 1600 B.C. Oldest N.B.P. potteries dated 1400-1300 B.C. were reported Dr. B.R. Mani from Ayodhya. Excavation Black slipped pottery begin around 1200 B.C.
