Practices of Green Manufacturing in selected Indian industries

This book attempts to capture varied viewpoints of Green Manufacturing which is one of the important natural inclinations of contemporary manufacturing. The existing knowledge base on this subject is somewhat fragmented and relatively unexplored. This book introduces the importance of this topic followed by definitions motivations features acceptability linkages and associated issues. It makes critical distinctions in respect of the subject on green manufacturing. It further proposes that the current focus for green manufacturing strategies should provide directions for its adoption and implementation. This book presents a study that deals with identifying factors of green manufacturing practices among the selected MSMEs in India. This book presents an application of Analytic Hierarchy Process to derive the significant relative weights appropriate for hierarchical green manufacturing system. Further this book presents an examination of the state of adoption of green manufacturing practices in selected Indian industries namely Brick Carpet and Brassware using multivariate linear regression analysis for empirical validation.
