Predatory Mites in Biological Pest Control

Biological Control application depends on three types of bio-agents: Pathogens Parasitoids and Predators. Predators are varied in their taxa biological aspects behaviors and targeted pests. There are numerous examples of predatory species in Arthropoda. Predatory mites are globally used to control several plant pests' damages. The most known group is Phytoseiidae. However there are several other groups of mites which have high predatory potentialities. In this book we will introduce other groups of predatory mites that are actively succeeded in controlling either above-ground (phytophagous pests) or below-ground (soil pests).
