Preservation of Medical Records in Public Hospitals in Kenya

Doctors medical consultants and other health care providers depend on medical records to provide appropriate services to patients. The records are considered to be a valuable resource for efficiency health care provision research and for legal purposes. Public hospitals are therefore expected to preserve the records throughout their life cycle in order to make them accessible all the time. Issues of preservation of medical records have continued to be an area of concern for researchers legal fraternity hospital management and records and archives management professionals.
