About The Book

University students are exposed to prolonged academic loads whose demands may predispose to Academic Stress or Burnout Syndrome.The objective of the research was to determine the presence of Academic Stress and Burnout Syndrome in third and fourth year students of the school of Nursing of the Universidad Santo Tomás Concepción branch year 2018.The research was quantitative descriptive cross-sectional and correlational. The universe corresponded to 277 students; the sample corresponded to 120 students who were studying the clinical practice of Nursing Care in the Hospitalized Adult and Elderly and Nursing Care in Emergencies and Disasters.The Sociodemographic Questionnaire SISCO Academic Stress Inventory and Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey (MBI-S) were applied the data were analyzed with IBM-SPSS statistics 20. The results showed that 96.9% of the surveyed third year students and 97% of the fourth year students presented academic stress as well as 13.80% of the third year students and 9.10% of the fourth year students had positive Burnout.
